Participation Procedure

Annual Project Calendar for 2025
May 11 – June 23, 2025
Application period and submission of portfolio files.
June 28, 2025
Orientation and Speech Training Workshop (all levels via ZOOM online).
July 4 – July 20, 2025
Submission period for speech video clips, speech topics, and manuscripts (Preliminary Round).
August 1, 2025
Announcement of selected candidates (All selected participants must confirm their participation for the Final Round by August 7, 2025).
August 16, 2025
Final Round Speech Competition (Venue to be announced later. Speech topics must be submitted via the website by Tuesday, August 11, 2025).
October 17–19, 2025
Speech Leadership Development Camp at World Peace Valley, Khao Yai, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
(All Final Round participants are eligible to join the camp. Teachers and parents of the finalists are also welcome to attend and participate in the activities.)
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: How long should the speech contest video be?
A: The speech must be continuous for 3–5 minutes. A slight excess is allowed, but not exceeding 30 seconds.
Q: Should the self-introduction be included in the speech time?
A: No, the timing starts after the self-introduction is completed.
Q: What types of microphones are allowed?
A: Any type of microphone is permitted, such as camera-mounted microphones, lapel microphones, wireless microphones, stand microphones, etc.
Q: Should the video be recorded in portrait or landscape orientation?
A: The video must be recorded in portrait orientation only.
Q: Which parts of the body must be visible while speaking?
A: The speaker’s full body must be visible in the video.
Q: What happens if the speech exceeds 5 minutes and 30 seconds?
A: Points will be deducted.
Q: Is video editing allowed?
A: No editing is allowed; the video must be a single, continuous take.
Q: What is the required dress code for recording the video?
A: Students must wear their official school or university uniforms.
Q: What should the video resolution be?
A: The resolution should be between 720p and 1080p.
Q: Can a mobile phone be used to record the video?
A: Yes, mobile phones can be used.
Q: What should be included in the self-introduction?
A: Full name, educational level, and educational institution.
Q: Where should I upload the video?
A: Upload it to your personal Google Drive.
Q: How should I set the Google Drive sharing settings?
A: Set the access to “Anyone with the link.”
Q: How should I name the video file?
A: “[First Name]–[Last Name] [Educational Level] [Institution Name]”
Q: Where should I submit the video link?
A: Submit the link via the website: www.ibsofficial.com/speech/
Q: What happens if I forget to set the Google Drive access properly?
A: You will be disqualified, as the judges will not be able to view the video.
Q: After changing the Google Drive access settings, do I need to inform the project team?
A: No, you only need to change the settings within the designated time frame.
Q: Will background noise in the video affect my score?
A: Yes, as it impacts the clarity of the speech for the judges.
Q: Can I read the script from paper during the speech?
A: It is not recommended and may result in point deductions.
Q: After submitting the video link, can I replace it with a new one?
A: Yes, but only the most recently submitted link will be considered for evaluation.
Judging Criteria for Preliminary and Final Rounds
1.Compliance with Project Rules
Participants must strictly follow the project rules. Failure to comply may result in disqualification at the preliminary round.
2. Submission of "Good Deed Portfolio"
Participants must submit a photo file demonstrating their good deeds, which will be considered for the “Personal Attributes” criteria.
3. Speech Structure (Total 70 Points)
- Content (50 Points)
- Relevant and focused content.
- Easy to understand and suitable for the audience.
- Beneficial and applicable for the audience.
- Inspires the audience emotionally.
- Proper use of beautiful and correct language.
- Introduction (10 Points)
- Engaging and captivating opening.
- Sparks interest in the audience from the beginning.
- Conclusion (10 Points)
- Memorable and emotionally impactful closing.
- Leaves a lasting impression.
4. Speech Delivery Techniques (20 Points)
- Correct pronunciation and enunciation.
- Appropriate use of tone and vocal variation.
- Smooth and rhythmic speech flow.
- Fluent and continuous delivery.
- Suitable body language and gestures.
- Effective emotional expression.
- Delivery must be extemporaneous (without reading from a script).
